Grove House and Gardens
Ramsey, Isle of Man
Built in the mid 1800's, Grove House presents The Rural Life Museum offering a rare
change to view a home built and furnished in this period as it has been preserved
as a museum. The house and grounds are owned by Manx National Heritage after the
Gibbs family owned the house.
The rooms display many items that were collected over the years and are now set
up for display, and the museum has a section of replica toys of the period for children
to play with. The farm's grounds still support animals and there are quite a few
Manx Loghtan sheep, ducks and chickens. There are many farm buildings also outside
holding a range of farming equipment such as plows, carts, and other equipment from
the Victorian Era as well as a few unexpected items. The Rural Life Museum (also
known as "The Gibbs of the Grove" and "Grove House") is a good day out for the whole
family and something not to miss.
