Erin Arts Centre
Port Erin, Isle of Man
Founded in 1971 and the only organisation of its kind on the Isle of Man, The Erin
Arts Centre is an important venue for music and theatre. Located in Port Erin on
the site of a former Methodist Chapel, the centre is staffed almost entirely by
volunteers dedicated to the promotion of the arts and has become a prestigious venue
for international artists of the highest calibre.
The Isle of Man Bank Auditorium
has fine acoustic properties making it a suitable facility for instrumental recitals
to small orchestral ensembles, choral concerts and opera music from recitals to
choral concerts. More recently films have been shown in the Auditorium after a digital
projector and screen were installed. The Erin Arts Centre also has its own dedicated
gallery space - the Sir James Mellon Gallery, which opened in 1994. The gallery
is very versatile and perfect for exhibitions due to its excellent combination of
natural and artificial light as well as corporate presentations and lectures.
