The Leece Museum
Peel, Isle of Man
Established in 1984 and situated along the boat harbour, known as East Quay in Peel,
The Leece Museum is located inside the Old Courthouse building. It moved here in
June 2000, and the museum was originally started by Mr TE Leece, a retired headmaster of Peel
Clothworkers School and Mr Frank Quayle who served the museum for its first 15 years.
Independent from the Manx Museum, the small and bright museum holds many exhibits
such as newspapers, photographs and historical items dedicated to the local Peel
area. The dedicated staff offer a wealth of valuable knowledge and make it an excellent
way to learn about the Isle of Man's only city and it's long past, and with free
entry it is well worth a visit.
