    23rd January 2010: Villa Marina and Gaiety Theatre, Douglas

  • Rotary Heart Save

    Thursday 11th February 2010: Red Cross Headquarters, Isle of Man Business Park, Braddan
    This is the eighteenth year that the Douglas Rotary Club has sponsored 'Heart Start', a free 2 hour course on First Aid techniques by qualified Red Cross personnel. The course is open to everyone and will include a talk and mouth to mouth resuscitation practice on a specially designed dummy. Four courses have been arranged as follows:
    Thursday 11th February 2010 at 10.00 am and 2.00 pm Thursday 25th February 2010 at 10.00 am and 2.00 pm

  • The magic of The Beatles

    19th February 2010: Villa Marina and Gaiety Theatre, Douglas

  • Isle Of Man International Darts Festival

    12th - 14th Mar 2010: Villa Marina, Douglas
    The 25th Isle of Man International Open Darts Festival will be held at the Villa Marina, Douglas and attracts many visitors to the Isle of Man. With large cash prizes, £21,000 to be won, events include a men's, ladies, mixed doubles and youth category. Action will be shown on large screens. Entry forms available from the Welcome Centre.

Isle of Man Events in April 2010

  • Isle of Man Easter Athletics Festival

    2nd - 4th April 2010
    Organised by Manx Harriers and now in it's 45th year, The Isle of Man Easter Athletics Festival is a great social and athletic weekend and attracts runners and clubs from up and down the country. The 2010 festival offers the following events: a 10k race on Good Friday, Saturday Peel Hill Race and Sunday 5k women's race and 5k men's relay. www.manxathletics.com

  • Manx Mountain Marathon

    3rd April 2010
    The Manx Mountain Marathon is a 31 mile fell race that takes competitors from Ramsey in the North of the Island to Port Erin in the South. The course is mostly on fells and country and visits all the major hill summits. The race is one of athletics ultimate challenges covering 31 miles of difficult, rugged terrain as it visits 11 of the Isle of Man's major peaks.

  • Annual Stamp & Postcard Fair

    April 2010: Sefton Hotel, Douglas
    Annual Stamp & Postcard Fair to be held at the Sefton Hotel, Douglas from 10am until 5pm.
    Auction of stamps, postcards and covers will start at 2pm. There will be displays from member's collections.

  • Manx Classic 2010

    Thursday 22nd - Saturday 24th April 2010
    The Manx Classic car rally will be held over three days and will run three events: The Governor's Sprint, starting from the famous TT Grandstand in Douglas, on the Thursday evening; The Sloc Hill Climb, in the south of the Island, on the Friday; and The Lhergy Frissel Hill Climb, exiting Ramsey on the famous TT Course, on the Saturday.

  • Isle of Man Hockey Festival

    30th April 2010 - 3rd May 2010
    The 57th IOM Hockey Festival is open to men, ladies and mixed players and teams of all standards, where teams can take part in as many or as few games as they wish, on grass and astro-turf. The ethos of the Isle of Man Hockey Festival is to have fun, socialise and to provide hockey on a non-competitive basis.

  • Big Wheel Blues Festival

    Saturday 1st - Sunday 2nd May 2010 - Riverside Pavilion, Laxey Glen Gardens
    The line-up for this fantastic blues event at Riverside Pavillion includes Larry Garner with the Norman Beaker Band, and Ana Popovic as headline acts as well as two full afternoon programmes of local blues and roots entertainment along with fun activities for all the family.

  • Collins Stewart Round The Island Yacht Race

    2nd May 2010: Ramsey Bay
    Organised by the Manx Sailing and Cruising Club (MS&CC), this annual yacht race attracts around 30 yachts which start at 6am Ramsey Bay and go on to circumnavigate the Isle of Man by sea.

  • Manx National Rally

    7th - 8th May 2010

  • Ramsey Angling Festival

  • Jurby South Road Races

    Saturday 22nd May 2010
    The event consists of a series of short motorcycle races over the 4.25 mile Jurby South Road circuit. These races have a massed start to include events for both National and Clubman's Licence holder.

  • 2010 International TT Motorcycle Races

    29th May 2010 - 12th June 2010
    The Isle of Man braces itself as bike enthusiasts from all over the world descend for two weeks of all things motorcyle-related at the TT Races. Practices start a few days before the actual race for anyone keen to watch. Practices:- Saturday to Friday 29th May to 4th June 2010

  • Mad Sunday Vintage Show

    7th June 2010
    Vintage tractors, barn engines, machinery bygones and threshing display, etc. At The Stonefield, Ballacregan, Port St Mary from 11am until 5pm. Admission £1 for adults, under 16's free.
  • Peel Day

    Sunday 6th June 2010
  • Ramsey Motorcycle Sprint

    Sunday 6th June 2010: Ramsey
    The Ramsey Sprint is a drag sprint event over an 1/8th mile strip and has been run since 1978. One of the biggest events outside the TT races, it regularly attracts crowds of 20,000 and above. The event has a tremendous atmosphere with the spectators watching the races whilst soaking up the sun. Course closed from 9am until 5pm. FREE entry and parking. A celebration of motorcycling which will include a host of biking activities, rallies, stunts, exhibitions, displays and activities to interest all age groups. Also trade stands and various other attractions including the Vintage Motor Cycle Club Rally in the Mooragh Park.

    The Isle of Man Walking Festival provides a full specially designed programme of walks around the island led by experienced leaders. including Uncover the unique and dramatic history of the Isle of Man. Experienced local walk leaders will guide you through a stunning landscape. There are over 20 walks for all abilities including the 95 mile coastal challenge designed Summer Walking Festival programme.

  • Isle of Man Bay Festival 2010

    Friday 18th - Sunday 20th June 2010: Noble's Park
    The Isle of Man Bay Festival 2010 is held in Noble's Park in Douglas and welcomes 24 fantastic artists/bands over 3 summer days to create a unique music event on the island. With a range of artists and bands to appeal to all, acts include: Spandau Ballet, Calvin Harris, JLS, The Feeling, Boy George, The Coronas, Rick Astley, Belinda Carlisle and Diversity. Held undercover in a black out tent where the special effects and stunning light shows will come alive, the Isle of Man Bay Festival 2010 is set to be one of the hottest events of 2010.

  • The Scottish Widows Parish Walk: Saturday 26th June 2010
    The ultimate sporting challenge on the Isle of Man. An 85 mile walk around all 17 parishes on the Island to be completed within 24 hours. The Parish Walk is a competitive and challenging event with large media coverage. Although it is a demanding event, competitors thoroughly enjoy it and have lots of positive feedback. Starts at 8am.

  • Mananan International Festival

    20th June 2010 - 3rd July 2010: Erin Arts Centre, Port Erin
    Established in 1975, the 2 week annual Mananan International Festival hosts Internationally acclaimed artists from all over the world. Artists who have appeared here include Thomas Allen, Nigel Kennedy, Paco Peña, Tasmin Little, Emma Johnson, Julius Drake, Julian Lloyd Webber and Peter Donohoe.   • Crown Green Bowls Festival

    21st - 25th June 2010
    Over the years the Isle of Man Bowls Festival has grown from strength to strength and is now recognised as the best bowling festival and carries with it the highest prize money of any festival on the bowling calendar. The festival has over £16,500 in prize money! The festival has a tremendous competitive atmosphere with over 400 participants competing.

  • Mannanan Model Boat Festival

    Saturday 26th - Monday 28th June 2010
    The Manannan Model Boat Festival is a three day event run by the Manx Model Boat Club, a hobby group formed in 1985. Held at different venues, there are competitions for participants and the event is freely open to the public for viewing.

  • World Tin Bath Championships: Saturday 3rd July 2010
    The 38th World Tin Bath Championships take place in the Middle Harbour, Castletown.

  • Marine Day

    Monday 4th July 2010
    A Festival of the Sea Next to Port St. Mary Yacht Club Boat Park. A joint venture with Island Seafare and the Yacht Club. Slide shows, cooking, competitions, games, processing and fishing demo's, wildlife conservation and fishing lectures, boat trips, touch tanks and live music.

  • Manx Heritage Flower Festival

    Sunday 4th - Saturday 10th July 2010
    Manx Heritage Flower Festival in various churches around the Island to celebrate the festival's 20th anniversary. The theme this year is ill be 'Rejoice'.

  • Tynwald Day / Manx National Day

    5th July 2010
    Traditional Manx National Day and public holiday featuring a National service and open air reading of the laws in Manx and English from Tynwald Hill. The ancient ceremony starts with the service in the Royal Chapel at 11am and the fair continues throughout the day with an evening firework display. Roads close at 10am.

  • Rally Isle of Man

    9th - 10th July 2010
    The Isle of Mans only premier international rally, which is part of both the British and Irish championship, covers 160 stage miles on closed public roads.

  • Yn Chruinnaght 2010

    10th - 18th July 2010
    Yn Chruinnaght is an Inter-Celtic National Festival of music, dance, arts & crafts and language. There will be Celtic mythologists, musicians, singers and dancers from all over Brittany, Ireland, Wales, Scotland, the Netherlands and elsewhere who convene each summer in Ramsey, Peel and other venues. www.ynchruinnaght.com
  • Ramsey Dog Training Club Open Obedience

    17th - 18th July 2010
    A friendly and relaxed atmosphere whilst upholding the competitive edge expected from any UK obedience show. There are classes to suit everyone from beginners to the very top.

  • Steam Packet Southern 100 Road Races

    13 - 16 July 2010
    The stars of the world famous TT races return to the Isle of Man for the ever spectacular Southern 100 Road Races. The fast and furious Billown circuit conjures up the most thrilling wheel to wheel action and some of the closest racing anywhere in the world with just fractions of a second often splitting today's gladiators. The non-stop action comes thick and fast with Superbikes, Two-Strokes, Classics and Sidecars all doing battle.

  • Jurby South National Road Races

    17th July 2010
    This is a National level on the 4.25 mile Jurby South Road circuit. The motorcycle event provides an important successor to the Southern 100 races and a number of riders and spectators stay on for this event. The event attracts riders and machines of the highest quality. The races have a massed start and are restricted to the National Licence holders.

  • Ramsey Dog Training Club Open Agility Show

    Ramsey Dog Training Club pride themselves on maintaining a friendly, relaxed atmosphere whilst upholding the competitive edge expected from any UK agility show. There are classes for everyone from newcomers to the seasoned competitor.

  • Mannin Angling Club Festival

    31st July 2010 - 6th August 2010: Albert Pier, Port St Mary
    The event consists of 2 shore and 5 boat fishing competitions. Boat competitions are classed in two categories: private and charter. Our conservation on the competition is we catch, measure and release. It is highly competitive but the participants socialise and enjoy the festival a great deal. (Charter boats only).

    Classic distance marathon and half marathon road races, on a quiet, scenic and rural course starting and finishing in Ramsey.

    Club Auction of stamps, postcards and covers at Greens Restaurant (Douglas Steam Railway Station). Viewing from 7.30pm. There is no entry fee for this event.
  • Firestarter Youth Festival: 19 Aug 2010 - 23 Aug 2010

  • Manx Grand Prix: 22 August - 6 September
    Motorcycle Racing on the T.T. Mountain circuit The 2010 Manx Grand Prix sees motorcycle racing return to the Road Racing Capital of the World and the famous TT Course. There's something for everyone as the Grand Prix caters for both modern superbikes and smaller 2 stroke machines. In addition, the Grand Prix also includes Britain's premier classic races, featuring some exotic machinery and some of the best TT riders from recent years. Often described as 'more relaxed' than the TT, the leading riders still lap in excess of 120mph!
  • Manx National 2 Day Trial: 22 Aug 2010 - 23 Aug 2010
    Manx National Two Day Trial for solo and sidecar competitors. The event covers all areas of the Island over two days. The event caters for modern and older machinery. One of the biggest and best Trials in Europe with two full days of off road endeavour. Various venues.
  • Southern Gardeners Summer Show: 29 Aug 2010 - 30 Aug 2010
    Exhibits of flowers, vegetables, pot plants, photos, fruit and confectionery at Moreton Hall, Castletown from 2pm until 5pm. Adults £1, children free.
  • IOM Dinghy Championship: 29 Aug 2010 - 30 Aug 2010
    Dinghy Racing Regatta at Port St Mary. From 1430 on Saturday and 1030 on Sunday.

    Performance of an opera directed by Stefan Janski, at 8pm at the Erin Arts Centre, Port Erin.

    The congress is a duplicate bridge competition which forms part of the English Bridge Union's calendar of events. Its small size makes it ideal for club players who are new to congress events. Takes place at the Villa Marina, Douglas.
  • End To End Mountain Bike Challenge: 13 Sep 2010
    A mountain bike challenge from one end of a country to the other, taking in a variety of terrains and requiring different skills to complete the event. 75km in total. From the Point of Ayre to Cregneash and the Sound.

  • Isle of Man Philatelic Convention: 10 Oct 2010
    The Philatelic Convention will be held at the Sefton Hotel, Douglas from 10.30am - 5pm. The auction of stamps, postcards and covers will start at 2pm. The entry fee will be £2 (children 50p) and will include a new issue postcard. Complete sets of these cards will be available at the door.
  • Craft & Local Produce Fair: 17 Oct 2010
    Craft & Local Produce Fair, held in aid of the RNLI. Hand made gifts Cards , Jewellery , local produce RNLI gifts and cake stall . Castletown Civic Centre from 11am until 4pm. Admission £1.
