The Isle of Man's answer to 'Britains's Got Talent'. 15 young acts will take to the stage to compete for the title 'The Next Big Thing 2013' and a cash prize of £500. This talent competition has been organised by local charity Junior Achievement and is for young people aged 11-17 years. After island-wide auditions the top 15 acts will appear live in the Grand Finale to be held at the Gaiety Theatre. Tickets £10.

In the autumn and winter 2012-2013, a team of people from Manx National Heritage, the Manx Wildlife Trust, Manx Birdlife, the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture, the UK's Food and Environment Research Agency and the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds came together in a joint effort to eliminate longtails (brown rats) from the Calf of Man. The ongoing project aims to make the Calf safer for nesting seabirds and encourage the resurgence of the Manx Shearwater colony. Admission free - no need to book, donations welcome.

Yn Chruinnaght (meaning 'the gathering') is a celebration of Manx culture and the relationship between the Isle of Man and the other five Celtic coutries (Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Cornwall and Brittany). It includes a number of events with music, dance, language, arts and crafts, lectures and much more.

In its 50th Golden Anniversary year, Rally Isle of Man incoroprating Duke Stages, joins forces again with Druidale Motor Club for 2013. Widely known simply as the 'Manx' due to it formerley being called the Manx International Rally. It is one of the most highly acclaimed rallies in the British Isles. The fast flowing tarmac stages have played host to some of the British Rally Championships' most competitive showdowns between the cream of the worlds rallying stars. Previous winners include Roger Clark, Ari Vatanen, Tony Pond, Jimmy McRae, Russell Brooks, Colin McRae, Richard Burns and Armin Scwartz to name but a few, and not forgetting local legend Mark Higgins, Patron of Rally Isle of Man.
